I had mine done when it first came out and got a warning when I switched it on saying it has been detected and if I don't remove in so many days I will be banned. Not worth it imi

Why do they call it jailbreak now? Whats wrong with saying chipped like every other playstation.

its because you dont brake the PS open and place a chip on the mother bourd you down load a programe witch acts as an u pdate and allows ou to play things like copy games but also lets you get download content ext free by bye passing securitys ext thats whyt its know as a jail brake

no mate can do it on nearly anything its just a program that by passes the security and all updates ext so you can get free things without the system picking up on the download

keep trying to find guides on how to do this but cant find anything concrete, dont really use my ps3 but want a few ps1 games from there

Go on google and type in jailbreak ps3 4.00 and then use a you tube guide mate

Think you need more than software if your ps3 is higher than 3.55 mines 3.72 so can downgrade with a dongle but something needs soldering etc

Can this be done on a fairly new ps3 ( few months old slim model ) I can live with not going online anymore

Nope inless u buy a dongle e3 flasher or similer but requires very good soldiering skills

Just been looking and can be done on anything provided you get the right jailbrake without soldering find your model system so if its a 3.55 then use 3.55 jailbrake

Nope defo cant b done. The vids on ebay etc are bullshit. If u can prove me wrong then great please show me bcuz want to do it

my mate has the old 60GB ps3 and done it the way on you tube you just got to get the right jailbreak he said its not as good as its made out ot be and would not advise anyone to do it as he can not play on line any longer and can cause problem's
