Right....

I'm away working in Angola, and Fee is moving in today

Same style of house as our last one, a bit less ornamental on some of the features but it still retains most things like the covings, doors & frames, stained glass and cast metal ballustrades etc

Main Lounge. Plan to strip & varnish floor boards if they are ok, rip out that fireplace and put a bigger wooden surround in with open fire. Traditional decor like our last place.

Back lounge/sitting room - no real great change, redecorate - modern.

Kitchen (will be getting altered and opened up with the dining room)

Dining Room (see above)

Bedroom 1

Bedroom 2

Bedroom 3

Bedroom 4

Shower room

Bathroom

Vestibule, terrazo floor tiles, features on the freeze etc

Stairs, hall etc (lots of it.... 3 floors... 4 sets of stairs)

Now i just need to wait 3 1/2 weeks till I see it

garage wont start 'till 2013 I'd think.

We have a few things we need planning permission/warrents for so may get the planning in sooner rather than later this time round.

BIG plans...

Knock through from dining room to kitchen to create a big light space - look into bi-folding doors to make a decent width glass wall type thing out to the side of the house. Change patio doors at the end of the extension (kitchen now) to a window.

Add a dormer (or 2) on the front to make much better use of the loft space. At the moment it has one bedroom on the top floor (used to have 2) and a few big cupboards. Need to speak to architects to see what they think as if its not going to give much extra space in a useful layout it wont really be worth it. I'd also like to make more of a feature of the stained glass thing in the stair ceiling (pergola is it? lit by a skylight in the roof peak). Add a toilet on this floor too.

Change the small front bedroom into a walk in wardrobe and en-suite (with bath).

Change the mezzanine bathroom into a spare bedroom.

Add a toilet on the ground floor under the stairs (currently a cupboard accessed via dining room)

Demolish garage and build full width badboy

So...er.... aye... looks like we may be busy for some time.

...which is a doddle if they are wood, but from memory I think they are PVC. Are they?

I know all the windows are wood.

I dunno

I think the bifolding doors will still work though....we'll just have them folding in rather than out and they will fold up towards the hall door...since it is wider there than I remembered...if that makes sense

My old man paid a thousand odd years back... Mid 80's I think.

He bought it from someone he knew that was moving back to the US when the oil market crashed round then - that was the small one

Its from a Venzualan rainforest...

pretty cool table

Fee - patio-doors? Plastic or wood?
