They won't do that any more, you are basically suggesting something like a 110% LTV mortgage.

Say you bought a house worth £100k, borrowed £110k, spent £10k on furniture, then 6 months down the line you lost your job and they had to repossess the house.

Even if they got £100k for the house, they are still down £10k.

I know the tax office is full of jobsworths, but surely being unable to spell appreciate is going to ring some bells with his employers? I mean, do you ever have to send emails in work etc

Not really mate don't send many E-mails use refusals and everything is abbreviated :s

So I do apologise for my spelling be leave it I'm trying to sort things like that out e.g doing a literacy course through work at my choice to better my self

Liam it's been covered but firstly you need to look at how much you earn after tax, and the same with your missus, how much money you have saved already for a deposit.

These are the monthly figures for my house:

Mortgage 597
Council Tax 125
Gas 40
Electricity 50
Water (on a meter): 15
Sky: 25
Phone line: 12.50
Broadband 13
House Insurance 10 (paid in full but just divided it by 12)
TV License 13
Life Insurance 16
Life Assurance 7

(Looking into whether i need both of the life insurance and assurance at the moment)

Some of them are rounded up slightly, so in total the bills before food are £923.50 a month, that is on a 3 bed detached new build.

My mortgage is 4.69% (i think) over 25 years - House price was £139,950 with a 35k deposit
