Hi everyone,

My name's James, I turned 17 back in June and was lucky enough to get a nice little Corsa for my Birthday

It's a 1.2 8v Merit 5 door and had only 58,500 miles on the clock! The cambelt and water pump had been just before I got it as well which was a big bonus. Anyway, got my insurance and provisional licence sorted ready to take it out on my birthday before work, I backed it off the drive and as I went to pull away it stalled, wouldn't start again all day and then ran lumpy as anything. So a major service was first on the list; replaced the Rotor Arm, Distributor Cap, Plugs, HT Leads, CTS, Oil Filter, Oil, Fuel Filter and did the Brake Fluid just for good measure. After this the car ran great again. Been a happy 6 months since then!

I've waffled on enough, time for some pictures!

This is how I got it, completely standard with Tigra alloys:

Next I decided to paint my calipers and drums red:

Thought the alloys could do with a respray (Don't worry I needed new tyres):

Also thought the sound system could do with an upgrade; Vibe Edge 12" Sub, 2 Vibe Edge 6x9s, 2 Vibe edge Coaxials and a Pioneer headunit:

With the alloys fitted:

Then I kind of went through a stage of several mods without taking any pictures. In this time the car has been:

- Lowered 40mm all round on Jamex Dampers & Springs
- Sportex Cat to Back Exhaust System with 3" outward rolled tip
- Debadged sides and rear
- Tinted rear lights with FlyEyes Kit
- Drilled and de-restricted airbox
- K&N Panel Filter
- Smoked side repeaters
- New number plates
- Sport interior

And here's how she sits and the moment (sorry for the dirtiness in the first pic!):

Thanks guys! I'm trying to go for the 'less is more' approach

The only other thing I want to do now is get some depos which I should be sorting out soon

Looks good buddy the only thing I'm not so keen on is the tint on the rear lights, makes them look a bit faded but if you like them then that's fair enough after all it's your car

Keep the updates coming

Thanks again everyone.

Darryl - It only cost me 9 quid to do so I thought why not, I think they look better than just standard rears

Shaun - Thanks, I'm open to any suggestions on other mods but I want to keep it as clean as possible

TwinFlow - Hey Adam, glad you like it! I've got it for at least another 6 months, I might even keep it until the end of show season next year, I'm tempted to keep this when I get a new one anyway as it doesn't cost that much more for me to insure two cars

Cheers all, any further suggestions? Depos should be on the cards fairly soon

Cheers! I'm surprised how well the paint has kept, I thought it would have easily have been Flame Pink by now but there's no signs of fading yet

Just a small update, no pictures yet!

Things I hope to achieve over the next few months:

- Full colour code
- Depos (bought)
- Smoothed post 97 front and rear bumper (bought front)
- Lowered 80mm on the rear to hopefully sort out the slight dragster look
- Sort out rattle from heat shield
- GSi Skirts modified to fit my 5 door
- Possible respray as the boot has some white marks where the badges used to be, also the near side front wing is slightly faded (a T-cut may sort this)

I'll update as I go along, just wanted to update as it's been quite a while!

Thanks Mark, my friend Adam (TwinFlow on here) did me a photoshop of the planned mods the other day and it looks great, just got to pull it off in real life now!

Danny - Thanks mate, I've just got to be careful not to overdo it!

FAZ - Glad you like it! Despite highlighting the fact that I don't have proper brakes on the rear, I quite like them red

Scott - Cheers! I'm very pleased with the bodywork, just the odd stone chip here and there

Right well it's certainly been a long time since I updated this thread! So I thought I should stick something in here.

The plans have changed a bit, I now have a smoothed post 97 bumper with an Irmy splitter also smoothed in, I'm picking up morettes at the weekend and I've also purchased some 100mm rear springs.

Here's a couple of pictures for people to look at, ignore the car on the right, that's the GSi I'm currently restoring :

Just needs the grills...

How it will be at PVS...
