It's all about turning up in your mum's car. I did it earlier this year, we had a drive around the lakes planned but my car was broke, handily though my Mum does drive a Corsa so that was a bit of a bonus

its the bubble shape one and it just rolls in the corners. does sit flat like my corsa

Basically we just book a big table and eat pub food, it's all very social.

If you don't know anyone just meet on the way. Might be wise to see if there's anything going on in your own region, if not just post in there and get some interest going.

Use Location Services on the top bar, that will tell you your region and also put you on the list on the Region Statistics page so people know you are local.
