I used Seas0npass.. It does it all for you and its an un-tethered jailbreak.

link me up

Did you have to bother finding the 4.3 IPSW??

Nothing listed for 4.3 jailbreak from PC

How hard was it to install XBMC and set it up?

It was a doddle!

I downloaded Seas0npass and the latest iTunes

http://support.firecore.com/entries/387605-jailbreaking-101-seas0npass

Then download Putty (free SSH client) and follow the simple commands here:

http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Install_XBMC_on_ATV2

I then downloaded WinCP so I could browse the file system on the AppleTV2 and install the iplayer/TVcatchup plugins.

Nope, seas0nPass downloads the IPSW and cooks it for you.. I did however have to perform an update through iTunes first, no idea why but it kept failing the jailbreak before I did that.

I'm a big fan of Apple's products, but this Apple TV has been a constant let down for me from day 1.

I can stream a hired DVD from Apple with no problems, but streaming anything from my iTunes constantly disconnects it, and I have to reset the whole Apple TV and turn on/off my Home Sharing and WiFi.

Very disappointed.

Not much point making it a sticky if you don't read it anyway.
