I think more effective use of torque is to strip the car tbh

Or add forced induction. If you do that AND strip it, and match the inlets, you're onto a winner.

inlets, map, exhaust and filter is all you need. and you'd have an ideal clio

This TBH. my 182 was standard. did a 15.4 quarter.

Lad with a 172 Cup had Yozzasport de-cat back, matched inlets and a map. He did a 14.4.

I know you may say it can go on driver etc, but he had started with a less power car, and i have done the drag strip 4/5 times, and it was his first.

Every Renault engine is different, My 172 had 182Manifold, De-cat and 3inch exhaust back..Matched inlets, Remap and K-tec panel filter and made 179bhp..
Freinds 172 went on straight before mine, Same simular miles etc, His had some shit K&n Filter made exactly the same bhp.

Ive seen standard 182's RR and make less then 170bhp, Its common!
3" not a tad overkill on a n/a 2.0?

steve is being awkward, he knows enough to know that matched inlet and exhaust ports can increase performance.

Was planning on getting matched inlets on my 182.

Matched inlets, decat, new exhaust, remap. That was the plan, selling it now though!

Butler and fad had it done I remember before we went to Germany IIRC

Power delivery was marginally more progressive, but no noticeable gains as such. To be honest I kind of regret not mapping it though.

Clio 182s never make near the claimed power, local lad recently had tbs fitted for his stage car and it maybe made 200 or so at fly, think he said some have been known to be 10-15bhp down :s

Ollie you should have just bought the 1.6, nearly as fast done those bits to it and you would have a 197 for a fraction of the cost.
