How do you work that out if people are always banging on about how they can get much better times at Santa Pod with its purpose laid smooth surface

What tyres do must folk use at crail?

To get the best out of a slick/prepped track you need decent tyres, good technique, power etc...

Most folk would just bog down

Un un-glued smooth track is pretty slippy too!

It was never decent, its a shit hole of a place that everyone used purely due to the fact it was the only one in scotland.

This one will be far more popular due to the fact its a proper purpose built track so no excuses about crails shitty surface and its closer to the main north/south motorway for the big bhp cars from down south that dont want to travel to a disused airfield in the middle of nowhere thats got more holes in the track than the red light area in amsterdam.

Lets be honest tho Adam, most that will go on track will be your average joe with a mildly modded car so having a car thats basically near race prep'd wont be much of an issue

Some of the big BHP guys will take it seriously and will have the machinery to put in very good times however the rest of us will just do it for a bit of banter.

I can understand that the Crail surface is a lot more porous than anything like Santa Pod but everyone, slick tyres or not, always bang on about how they 'could always get a better time at pod', 'imagine the times you could get at pod' etc. I'd say Crail is more fucked than like grip tape, I can't see it giving better times than the pod no matter what tyres you use. If that was the case surely it'd be a good thing and people would be coming from all over to be getting the best times possible!?

did you know, the 'race starter' in F&F at race wars is the guy that was in charge of choosing all the motors in the first and second movies
