Its not that much Mark. The cars rusty as fuck, if I don't paint it I'll have to scrap it or spend more in the long run. I love the car and intend to keep it long term.

BMW .

The rack on these is the same as a 318. The Z3 1.9 is the best turn ratio but are rare and expensive. Any post 2002 e46 rack or e46 compact rack is slightly quicker. Cheap too second hand

That white cab with the black roof looks great, will look just as good with your motorsports on and even better with the black interior.

May have to lower it slightly though

Contours look great on a saloon but not for me. Pic to showcase colour

Right headlight build is not getting off to a good start

Here is the problem:

Giant empty space and fuck all to mount shit to. S dismantled projector to see if I could place the Xenon one inside this to utilise the mounts:

Cut off removed and projector split into lens and bowl:

Can see how small the xenon projector is:

Tried to separate and mount projector but apart from being a bastard if fitted I won't be able to use shrouds so will look off as the lens will be mounted far back:

Desired end effect:

So it's looking like I am going to need to get some more Bosch units to cannibalise as these can accept new projectors and need shrouds due to different construction.

Urgh more cash

Yeah, I know. Need to see how much the units are new

See here:

Projectors are different to mine but this matters little. So much easier!

Removed lens and got Dremmel ready:

So need to cut some of this away so i can cleanly mount my new projector using this as a bracket essentially, this will help keep aim etc..

Mark out where to cut roughly:

Dremmel melts the plastic so progress is quick but messy!

Cut:

Section removed, now need to remove some of the inside to accomodate main beam solenoid.

Starting to think i should go the new headlamp route as this feels like such a bodge.

Had another trim and made it fit.

Can now fit the solenoid comfortably in the housing. May not need to make brackets now.

Slides in nice and tight:

Ok so have had this on the back burner for a while. Replaced SMG gearnob and Tom painted the base piano black as per earlier in my thread. At the time I purchased a new leather gaitor (aftermarket) it didn't fit sovsent the whole assembly to the chaps I purchased it off and they made it fit

Only thing missing was the silver ring with bolts through it to hold the gaitor in was matte silver and didn't match the chrome theme I had going on. Doesn't look awful but it's to many shades of silver IMO. So got Tom to paint it black:

This was laquered and ready to paint with this:

With just one coat:

Like my marigolds?

Then with a few more layers:

Be careful with the chrome paint and lacquer, ive heard a few folk say that it goes dull once lacquered so might be better off not lacquering it.
