random question but can anyone explain how a rev counter works. obviously ive put a 6 pot cylinder engine and using 4 cyclinder clocks and want to try and keep the original gsi clocks in but have the revs reading true.

do they work on pulses or is it a voltage increase. i no that that it comes from the coil pack but how does it convert the signal to a read out.

any help would be much appreciated

so.....after alot of neglecting the car and leaving it out in the cold i have found motivation again.

now manageed to get a full gsi interior, the manifold is now sorted and is almost ready for mot. just need to try and sort out the radiator and header tank as there is no convenient place to put it but these are only small problems.

will add pictures later on today

Have alot of people that keep telling me the gearbox wont cope but I have a mate that running a 200bhp Redtop on carbs running the same box and his is fine. So if it does go it will either be an F20 or F28 depending if there's a good one about.
