Ronaldo dived, in his 'uncontrollable' fall he clipped Mascheranos heel, causing the fall and stopping him possibly getting a tackle in.

If he'd stayed on his feet the ball would of gone to Higuain who might of got the shot off anyway, but he decided to jump to the floor instead
