It was alright... first half was a bit slow, 2nd half was better. It reminded me of 'kill bill / dusk till dawn' towards the second half. Would prob still only give it about 6.5/10 max though. But then again I think I just hate these comic book style movies (I'd give Scott Pilgrim vs the World 2/10!)

I don't think that's a problem though? It needed to be so long to have all the detail in it! Absolutely stonking film.

Crowe has been in a couple of shit films, but Gladiator is wonderful. Not as good as A Beautiful Mind Though! His finest hour imo.

I watched Scott Pilgrim vs the world a few weeks back, was pretty lame imo but largely due to it being not my kind of film.

this is pretty much my thought process

id be like, hmm wanna watch a film, ahh gladiator, thats awesome really want to watch that again, mmm but its 8:30pm and its so bloody long.

Then pick something else. Sometimes if i really want to watch something long though id start it and finish it off the next day

Just watched the fighter and really enjoyed it. Definitely recommend it. There's none of that shit in rocky where you hear the sound of punches that didn't even land! Some of the scenes actually look like they are knocking lumps out of each other and its filmed as though you're watching a fight on sky.
Christian Bale does a great portrayal of Dicky, his voice is absolutely spot on. Still think Marky Mark is a bit wooden as an actor though but I could actually see him as a boxer not an actor in this so that's good enough for me.
