I hate to big myself up but I won't scrimp on buying shit bits or crappy maps just to save myself a few quid.

Tell tell sign of this is when the car is running 300bhp and has Wanli tyres on it.

Would it have made things better if i said buy 1 with branded suspension parts??

Engine parts needed to make a Gsi decent cant really be scrimped on.Seeing as they are from err,a VXR.

So if i was to go and see 2 astra 1.9 cdtis tomorrow.
1 has vxr wheels wrapped in some 160 quid a corner tyre and the other has budget tyres does that mean i would have less problems with the gearbox on the one with the unique tyres because he knows how to depress a clutch properlly?

But then that means hes more likely to rag it than the one with the budgets because he will be taking it easier meaning he will be more carefull with the car.

I owned an Astra Gsi for 9months. They suck and are not cheap to run.

I've not driven a Corsa Vxr but I can read and the motoring press love them. So in short buy the Corsa

I owned a gsi and have ran about in a corsa as my brother used to have one.

Corsa is a fun car, astra is a more relaxed motorway cruiser.

Corsa has very stiff suspension and loves to be thrashed, astra not so much.

I would buy a vxr given the choice but i personally dont think they are worth 3/4k more than a coupe turbo/gsi. The two are the same on petrol, depends on the way you drive.
