The crank will prob only need a polish, It depends if its got any damage. The best way to run it in will be to start it and get out and put it under some stress by making it work.

I'm doing two builds so I can mock it up, iron out any issues etc, then rebuild the engine so its ready to go.

right were do i start... started my new job at amazon in dunfermline and its going well so decided i need some transport to get there instead of relying on my old man so going get the corsa booked in for its mot next week. but 1st i had a few problem to fix, couldnt get the window washers working even after changing the motor twice!. it turned out to be the little rubber bit that goes into the bottle. easy fix number 1

next was a horn... changed from the horrid basic spec steering wheel to a sport one and couldnt get a horn working so decided i needed one mounted on the dash.. so ran some wires and used a little button out the steering wheel wired it up and then beeeeeep one working horn but it was constant lol finally eventually sorted it and problem number 2 sorted.

quick pic before i got it into position

next up on the ramps to sort the front crossmember for thr 2nd time

ground all rust off, hopefully gone now

top half painted silver

bumper bar back on after a quick lick of black

battery tray painted aswell

back on the ground and lights, bumper grille all painted

gave it a quick bath lol

now im in 2minds weather to change the rear springs or not, currently running 100mm springs so 1.) pretty low 2.) spring falls out when jack up the car.... do have 60mm i could fit for mot atm....

That switch won't pass MOT. It has to say horn on it.

as dan says it doesnt.

tbh jed the slam panel is knackered, been in a bump in the past and someones cut a slam out another corsa and welded it on. bonnet opens and shuts so it'l do the now.

keep thinking about some softstars for the corsa aswell...or should i keep the speedlines on?

same here mate, my cross members been welded to hell on the plus side haha but my slam was that bad i resorted to cheap bonnet pins...(bonnet got stuck shut) i plan on getting another slam eventually... if you bother replacing yours let me know if its hard to do pal. doesnt look too bad tbh though

Fair enough, Checked it. Be a good idea to show the tester though, and it does need to be secure. Should be easy to push.

cheers...

well the corsa had its mot today and well it passed on a tyre, but the tester said if i could get a replacment fitted he would pass it today. so i went to kwick fit and got my spare tyre swapped over (i thought it was punctured but it was sealed on the rim properly) couple pics

at the MOT garage were i spotted a black 1.5td with sport spec etc looked quite tidy

then at quick fit

then once i got home i wasnt happy with the ride height so got it sorted out once and for all

slammed the front on coilovers

then the back got fitted with the 100mm springs

comments welcome
