Had to be done!

When is ios6 being released? Seems to be dragging on, even though they've announced it.

Same time as THE NEW iPhone, I'd think.

Strong likelihood that the first versions of the iPhone 5 won't work with LTE 800MHz...

I hope there's an option to turn LTE/4G or whatever it is off, battery life on phones these days is terrible and you don't even get 3G anywhere as it is.

In that logic, do you count the iPhone 4S as number 4.5 or just don't count it at all?

Product naming doesn't follow the phones generation; simples. So it'll be the iPhone fem

No, it was the second, and it had 3G, aptly named thereafter. So there was a good reason behind the name.

What reason is there that the next one should be named 5?

I'm not trying to rant btw, I'm genuinely curious.

So many people think the next phone is the 5 that I'm seriously starting to wonder if I'm in the wrong here...

Yes, yes, I know, it doesn't matter, fanboy, yada-yada, what ever...

Ask Apple but it's been the same with most of their products; the iPod 5.5 being the iPod Video, iPod 6 - iPod Classic etc etc.

Patronising And you can thank Borgen and Wallander (yes i know they're Swedish) for the translation

Edit - iPod example probably isn't that great. Either way, it's likely to be the 5 or they will do what they did with the iPad and it'll simply be 'The iPhone'.
Who the fuck cares anyway; i'm only doing it to wind up the Dane and Lee

Ask Apple? You are the one calling it iPhone 5, not them. But no one cares to explain why they call it so...

No clue what Wallander is, but I think Borgen is a Danish TV show!?

And 'patronizing' is correct by the way.

At least we can agree on it probably just becoming The iPhone.

I don't think Apple has ever taken the build number in to account in the naming, have they?

Most of their hardware, including the Macs, have hardware build numbers that they never officially use.

You're right about Borgen being Danish and 'ize' is for the Americans or Oxford educated (which i'm not ).

Either way, i give up on the naming; it'll be a phone with a few 'new never been seen before' upgraded parts.

The screen size of the iPhone has remained the same since it was first launched. Apple is expected to increase the size of the display to four-inches diagonally. While the width will not change, Apple will raise the height, thereby giving it a resolution of 1136 x 640.
