In what scenario?

I'm guessing they're the same, just the 4 post take up a little more room. Don't know anything about them though.

i like using a 2 post ramp as you can get to alot more of the car. just takes a bit longer to get it on and up in the air.

4 post as in drive on flat platform?

I've always been in garages with 2 post Ramps with 4 arms, they're fine as long as the arms clear sideskirts, pain in the arse with low cars, infect even my civic at Std height you have to pull it up by the front wing to get the arms under the jacking points

Saying that though, the Porsches and ferarris and even the super heavy bentley Contis go on our 2 posters here

My cars a bugger to get on a 2 post ramp, but they're alot more open so as said before you can get to alot more of the car. 4 poster is easier to get on to but does make it harder to get to some parts on the car i think

my mate who is a mechanic also like yo use 2 posetr rather the 4 poster

am I correct is assuming the 4 poster would support more load

Well when we buy a house I want a decent sized garage and want to get a proper lift for it.

I remember having to get the exhaust changed on my estate at a tyre place which had a 2 poster, but I had to go to another location which had a 4 poster as there was some problem dropping the subframe or some shit like that to remove/route the new exhaust, which couldn't be done on a 2 poster if that makes sense?

4 poster would take more than the 'equivelant' 2 poster I'd assume.

When I was working as a mechanic for a while it seemed like MOTs were mostly done on the 4 poster and normal work was done on the 2 posters.

You can get the wheels off on a two poster and not on a four?

I have no garage knowledge really, only when I have peered in whilst the car gets and an MOT etc.

some 4 posters have a jack/lift part in the centre that slide about to lift it off the ramp to get wheels etc off if needed.

mot's have to be done on a 4 post ramp. car has to have suspension compressed etc which it wont on a 2 post.

2 post is best for access, 4 post best if you need to do tracking or mots, both have their advantages, you really need both imo

You can do more jobs on a 2 post.

Can't do brakes, suspension on a 4 unless it has jacking beams.

Can't do exhaust if the platforms are in the way.

Only thing 4 posts have going for them is that they're slightly easier to set up a car on to them.
