LOL its a fact... the 1.6 16v corsa engine (1994-2000) was pants.... no torque what so ever and managed a quite poor 9.5 seconds to 60mph... compared to 7.7 of the gti.... your telling me 2 seconds of difference is down to the 200kg a corsa carries?

Speaking mechanics all day is all fine and well but it also goes down to the driver as well.

No doubt everyone on here is perfect and never spins the wheels when pulling away but put a rubbish driver in a 106 Gti and a good driver in the 1.6 Sport and the sport could win.

Thinking about it. Putting a quality set of tyres on a Corsa 1.6 and a dodgy set of very hard remoulds on a Gti and what would win.

Back on topic. I washed mine the other day which is good for 450 bhp due to less resistance.

What's the point of having the fastest car if you can't drive it to the best of it's capabilities.

What I have said is that the each and every part of what goes into driving a car is important. Not just 1 specific thing.

Then again, you sound just like another 'I drive the fastest car on the planet' Kevin to me.

Learn to see other views and ACCEPT that there are more important things than raw engine power. Technique is more important for your average at the lights events as the distance involved is so small that a slight difference in reaction time can make all the difference.

Don't be blinkered by engine stats as there is so much more to take into account.
