Sounds just like my Freelander. Seemingly ran fine for ages but would drink water big time and needed refilling daily. Head gasket was letting go slowly? Over time, it eventually got to a point where you couldn't go half mile without it overheating.

Put some radweld in it, I couldn't find a very small leak in my car 2 years ago and The water hasn't gone down at all and the radweld hasn't fucked the car like the internet says.

K-Seal's the best to use according to the mechanics I used to work with.

its not confirmed it is the head gasket yet tho..

when ive changed the rad, and checked all the pipes and replaced the expansion tank then ill think about the head gasket lol

just go get it pressure tested no point in spending £300+ on a new rad if its your HG

A pressure test won't always tell you if the HG is out.

No but its worth a punt rather than shelling out alot more money in the first place. i doubt HG anyway as it would run shit if its using that amount of water and there would be signs

as said, make it so that you can see where it's coming from. Warren what's a sniffer test? Chuck a bloodhound in the engine bay?

what do you mean high pressure :S

if a 2.0 turbo running 300bhp doesnt have issues with cooling why should yours? or is it a weak point? which i daught

just different pressure ratings, the standard ones have plastic end caps and the rating of them is lower than the system runs as standard

the hi pressure one (just its name) has a higher capacity and has thicker cores 45mm instead of 40mm
