to lower my car, torsion beam rear and springs up front. I could get my m8 to do it for like £80 but he cant do it til nxt week and iv got the day off today so i wanted to have it dun today. Only place will offer me is £250 do u think this is way over the top.

I know there is more work involved in resetting the torsion abr at the rear but that sstill way over the top. If it were me id simply change the fronts myself then get a garage to do the rear. That way it shouldnt cost any more than £50 max, and Id still be pissed off at paying that.

Apart from the rear its a piss easy job, bout 40mins will do it.

£50 for me to get a whole sus kit put on my car when i provided it, £250 is a joke for labour only!

torsion bar lowering is run of the mill at £150 just for the bar.

thats rediculous, mate had his clio done and r-tec, xtreme, rpm etc.. all charged 80 quid

I've heard from a few places to get the rear torsion bar n saxos done is around 200 quid

there is a place in sheffield that specialises in lowering saxos and 106's, cant remember the name of it off the top of my head, if thats anywhere nearer

no, got to have a weighted slide hammer to pull the bar out, they heat it to make it easier to pull out... then needs adjusting correctly to match the front.

Yeah I suppose Id pay to get that done then, more difficult than I thought.
What happens if you go too far with it and the rear sits really low, can you reset it again?

yeah but u have to pull the bar out and start again...
We used to have fitting here years ago, and lowering things like ax gt's was a pain, cause the bar seizes in place over the years etc.
