Well I spotted a standard turbo on eBay, put a cheeky bid in and won it !
Anyway it arrived - totally standard turbo with an uprated actuator

So after having a look around at turbo companies I was recommended to use KRS turbos, chap called Kris Mitchell runs it. So sent him a few messages arranged a rebuild.
Took the turbo down to him, really nice genuine guy.
Got a call off him the week after - turbos done.
So me being me drove all the way go rugby to pick it up and got this as a finished result.
Fantastic job !

Looks fantastic
The spec is

Stage 3 K26 hybrid turbo
360 thrust bearing , staggered oil seals , k26 compressor wheel , Penney valve repaired
CNC machined compressor cover.

Also purchased this

Good find on the gearknob, I've just bought one from Vauxhall for £45, should have been £54 but got a bit of a discount.

So to carry on .....
Once apon a time oh wait
Try again

Anyway after my engine went pop I left my car and engine with the bloke who was carrying out the work previous to the engine failure.
I waited and waited and waited for the engine to be built and every time I asked it wasn't done.
After a long time I got fed up and went to get my car
The engine was like this

Everything else off the car was left in the car :/

I took the car back to check it over , both wheel bearings had become goosed (probably from being stood with no shafts in)
I took the calliper off the drivers side and the bearing fell off

Car was left engineless again

So after having a think and getting in touch with Mr Adam Beard who has helped me massively and you will see soon
I started to buy more parts !

Astra J VXR oil pump
Under piston oil squirters

Big thank you too Col on here for helping me with the pump and oil squirters

I got a few boxes back full of engine parts
So set about going through them

Just to check if anything was missing

Also ordered some Audi wheel bearings

I took my C20LET in bits to Beardy and he suggested the uprated oil pump and oil jets.

He set to work on the engine ... I'll let the pictures do the work

Oil jet holes all machined in

Whilst the engine rebuild was going on I did a few bits the the Corsa

Started off by cleaning the interior

Fitted a new ball joint

Drive shafts looked a bit naf

Quick lick of paint

I cleaned the bottom cross member and re painted it

I had a strut brace in the rear of the car which was painted in matte black, needed a fresh look.
Gave it the sprayer at work to go mad and be presented me with this

As you can see its green ish
So I fitted it , something different

Fitted my calibra 6 speed gear knob

Re painted the rack

Engine update again ....
Found out what caused it to pack up

Bugger ! So new head needed i sourced one , set off to Birmingham 3 hour trip did just over an hour got a message from the seller "sorry mate I've just sold the head"
Nice one :/
So Adam and me had a chat and very kindly he offered to sell me a head he had. Thank you again for that !

Block had a steam clean looked crap

Adam painted it all

One bore

Coming together ....

Sump was converted to studs not bolts

Went down to pick up my engine and loaded the van with everything needed to fit the let again

Gave the gearbox a clean

Subframe off

One brand new let

Car ready for its heart again

Massive help from my good mate Simon , much easier than doing it on your own like I did last time. Thanks again Si !

And in !

Trail fitted the hybrid turbo

Ordered a braided oil feed pipe

Magnetic sump plug
