Looks too high to me TBH, but I suppose it's down to personal prefrence.

I got down low in that photo, but when you actually sit on the sofa behind its the perfect height, i didnt want it anylower as i wanted it the right height for playing on the wii too. But the bracket i have can go up or down 3" without adjusting the bracket on the wall.

That's mounted on a brick wall, and we ran the cables through to the other side because our whole AV rack is in the dining room out of the way.

got my 50 on a studded wall, screwed into one of the stud and the rest i used anchor dolts specifically for plasterboard, same in the bedroom and they all good.
just use the right bolts and youll be fine, the more bolts the better
