Most of the sporty french hatches have powerful engines for their size, especially compared to vauxhalls. ie. VTS 1.6 16v 120bhp, Sport 1.6 16v 106 bhp.

Yeah the Pugs are powerful really. 1.6 106 = 125BHP and the 1.4 XSi has 100BHP.

Everyone keeps saying about the 106XSi haveing 100BHP etc but my mate used to have one and it was no faster than my SRi except for top end where it would prob have beaten me cause his didnt have as close a ratio gear box as mine! But 0-60 and 0-80 they were equally matched!

pugs are fast, my m8 has a 1.0i 4 speed, beats my 1.2 8v corsa by quiet a bit, he had 110 out of it the other day (down a hill) that took it of the clock, and it did actualy do it cause i was at the side of him in my m8s clio (1.2 also faster than my corsa)

the fact is vauxhalls are slow (but look loads better)

I think you should be quiet, this statement is pretty accurate.

BHP is the power that gives the top end speed. Torque is how much twist the engine produces. If u put ur foot down, how well it pulls, i.e more torque = better 0-60.

Why do u think a turbo pulls so well?
