IIRC, when I last looked, anything compatible with google power meter involved in buying fairly expensive hardware and/or paying another monthly subscription on top of that.

It wont be long until its free.

I don't think I'll be paying for that

It's not like I'm sitting here at work wondering how many watts my washing machine is using on standby.

yep, doesn't really change anything or the way i use electric

if anything you ran around the house switching everything on to see how high you can get it

My current cost meter only cost around £30 and via my server uploads its data to Google Power meter.

Certainly not expensive
