Yeah you see a lot of K/L/M reg Merit's that colour. Never seen a GSi that colour. Like i say though could be wrong. Still a lovely colour for a GSi. The car has a lot of potential like.

Also to answer your Air/con question. If this is not a genuine GSi then it could be that whoever built this replica took the engine out of a newer 1.6 sport model with aircon. The big give away is the heater control switch. If it has a yellow snowflake light in the middle then the car has aircon. From the pictures I can see that yours doesn't so i'm guessing this car was a lower spec model, although the GSi never came with aircon, and someone has fitted a later X16XE with aircon still intact but not connected. I can just make out the rigged silver tubing located behind the radiator which supports my observation LOL.

Does the car have two radiators back to back?

the spec is correct its a 1994 C16XE GSI the reason its this colour is because its from Jersey imported in 2004.

its had 3 owners including me i have most m.o.t's with the earlyest one at 26 K. the v5 states its a GSI. as iv found out theres alot different with this corsa all the switches on the doors are wrong for the new blue LED ones i have bought!

this should be fixed on sat and pics up by sunday as long as i can get a soldering iron...

need help with taking the top part of the inlet off and some ideas for wheels!

i think some one did just put a pump on there is nothing els to do with air con! there is only a pump so ill take that off as its just causing resistance on the belt!

as iv seen so far things i need to get sorted atm are

1) change front brakes to new 2L units (best disc and pad combo?)

2) get new top mounts (standard)

3) fit black pannels (asap)

4) book in to a body shop

Ah thats fair enough mate. Still a cracking car like. Might have to take a little trip over to Ireland and get me a rare GSi ha ha. I could have a look up here for you mate for black plastics or anything else you need. Scrap yards up here charge next to nothing for parts.

it all started in jan 2010, i'v always wanted to sort the body work out on my red GSi rep, but now this one has come along i decided, after talking to some members on here about Autovaux, i tired to get a full GM complete body kit. i called them up and they said they would get back to me with a price and if all is in stock.

next day i get a call... Mr fry yes its all here thats £...... but before i could say yes my piston rings went on the red corsa costing around the same price to get fixed, as i needed the car that came first!

i saved up again and called back samething again but the price had gone up and i didnt have enough....... : (

payday just gone i made up my mind called back and ordered all of this!

all i need to do now is get my gaskits and im rolling

right got my computer fixed after thinking it had died....

update so far is half my gaskits have come in just waiting on 4 others but have no del date !!!

so iv been looking at wheels for Mr.frosty

i want a dish thinking polished like lenso bsx's or borbet a's centres painted frost blue but not sure going to lower it 60mm alround i think on a full apex kit from vaux online.

started to clean up all the wheel arches from road dirt buildup so they can be painted and protected.

also any one got a pic of where the abs light is and souldit come up before starting the engine on dash? i have a broken wire but no light!!!

the next bits going to be fun iv seen a few wheels i like but im not sure on what will work best and what sizes......

first idea would be 14x7's on the front and 14x9's on the rear in this style

second idea is 15x7's front and 15x7.5 rears in this style

or thirdly these on 14x7's front and 14x10 rears

also ordered these all in black still waiting ......

image make lovely wheels, great choice!

what are your plans for rear arches? 14x10 sounds pretty ambitious, corsa's don't like overly wide wheels on standard arches
