Every Turbo 1.6 i've seen running an aftermarket inlet manifold (really needs it), has ran between 150-190bhp.

This is between 6-12psi.

6-7 psi was what courtenay ran their tubby conversions at (3 head gaskets to raise compression).

There was a chap on here who bought a whol engine from courtenay for £3k. Ran it at fairly high boost.

It went pop.

I've seen 1.6 16v running full decent setups seeing mid 250 ish bhp.

i've got a video of a 1.6 16v Turbo using an F13 box on my youtube. Tops out at 117mph quite quickly for a diddy corsa.

Yeah, for reliability, i'd say max 8psi if your using standard internals.

If your going the whole hog you can run more, but on a standard engine, i'd keep the boost quite low.

I know Dbilas do a turbo conversion kit for the x14xe and x16xe.

It cost £4000 though, be alot cheaper just buying a faster car

you mean lower the compression. Dont see point. Standard engine on mapable ecu smash timing back and bit richer on boost be right.

I had a x14xe turbo built by courtenay. I never used it, just took the parts and sold them on. But, apparantly...It had been running for a few years on the standard ecu and the only thing I could see is that they had used 2 head gaskets. Dont know how true it is on the managemnent side of things but thats what I was told.
