Have you had the oil changed?
Has it ever been changed?
Have you checked the level?
It's vital to change the oil after a/the run-in period on these. They can be slightly low from the factory too.
As far as I know, they are a tough old unit.
I abused the absolute fuck out of mine for several thousand miles and it works perfectly.
I've not heard of one going down before Dave.
Do you know if it leaks at all?

They are generally shit anyway, most of the TVR owners bin them
The viscous fluid in the seal unit just gets shit after a while..
It spins up in a straight line once the speed builds up but its a bitch to get side ways when moving slow.
