i got one of those muscle toner things off ebay. Used to go to the gym all the time and got quite big but last couple of months only been twice and got a bit "looser".

I can only bench press about 80kg odd But then i work on that alone, and i've got to get back into it yet.

Usually do 3 sets of 10, at, errrr 50kg odd.

the only prob with doing heavy weights is that it slows you right down. Love watching bouncers run LOL

How do u know? I could lift 85kg b4. My old man, hasn't been to the gym in prob 8-9 years. Lifted 120kg straight away! I dont need to prove it. I know i can. Thats all that counts.

I prefer to do faster smaller weights to tone up instead of a few heavy weights which do nothing but build you up without and muscle definition.
I could bench press just over 100 when I was in shape. Who knows what I could do now!

I tend to stick to lower weights, but do more reps on them. Hurts more

lifting it and doing 3* 12 reps are another thing and on a free bar so effectivly its 100kg.

Hey,

It all depends on how much effort you're willing to put into loosing the fat.
I've lost 3 stones in 5 months. It takes a long time.

The first thing is the diet. You need to cut down on you're carbohydrate intake. This includes pasta, rice, bread, cereals, potatoes. Carbohydrates are you're main energy source but unused energy is stored in you're body as fat!!
Eat protein for muscle growth. (chicken, tuna, egg whites).
~Try and eat regularly but in smaller quantaties, so that you don't want to munch out big time!!

The next step is exercise. Cardiovascular exercise, for me, is best done in the mornings, with no breakfast. This ensures that you are burning the stored energy in your body and not your breakfast. Try 3 times a week, burning around 800 calories per session.
Don't forget, weights also burns off calories!!
You can try doing about an hours worth of cardio, then go for a light weights session but with high reps. This will give you a good 'rip' and not too much bulk. Its not how much you lift that matters, its how you look.

As for the six pack, the fat will come off your stomach LAST!!! However, keep up the sit ups, the muscle will be there when the fat starts to come off.

free weights are more beneficial for you, but you are more prone to injury.

Ive got to be very carful with right shoulder, tears of the muscle so easy. Did it about 3wk ago. Kills so much the pain is just constant

Never knew to get off the pasta, potatoe etc. I've been eating it thinking it helps

Lost errr, well, bought 2.5kg in 2 weeks. ot weighed myself for the last 2 weeks though.

I always thought that cutting out carbohydrates would be quite dangerous, esp for people that r on the go all the time thats what all the famous people do.

U also have to build up to that kind of workout, everyone has to start somewhere

Ive lost quite a bit on my stomach already just by cutting down on junk food, keeping to low fat foods, and doing 500-600 calories of CV and situps

Cutting carbs out completely longterm would be dangerous, but a protein-only diet for say, a week shouldn't pose a problem to most.

If you must have carbs, then reduce the portions and try not to have any for your evening meal.

but if u get ur energy from carbs then wouldn't u feel a bit shit and find it hard to do a proper workout? I dunno if thats right just the way im seeing it?

If u just cut it out for a week surely that wouldn't make much difference cause ur go straight back to how u was after the week?

I agree reduced portions is a good idea tho

protein alone would create the affect of getting 'ripped' which sheds all the fat for muscle.

but your not built enought really for that

Well the idea is that muscles will look to stored energy sources (eg fat) and use that instead.

If you are more aware of what your eating and eat a balanced diet, then you shouldn't necessarily go back to your "before protein" diet.
