No offence but I think these cars are a pile of wank, however I like yours, you've made it look pretty decent

Some bad news: suspension that arrived was for new shape swift, contacted P1CK4D, few days later he informed me that GAZ can't make coilovers for my car....

GUTTED! had to sent them back and waiting to get my money back now...

Some better news:

Picked this up:

Engine, gearbox, driveshafts, ecu, alot of wires...

Got this from machine mart

With help of sisters bf got it on:

i reckon he will be helping me alot during this build

car loom, i think i wont need any of this

engine loom:
got another one coming, i hope in better shape..

Engine got new water pump and clutch, looks like new cambelt but its gonna be replaced.

Ordered dizzy cap and rotor today, should have head off next week.

Also waiting for a second hand rad to come ( new one is £180), full gear linkage and accelerator cable.

Will take a trip to scrappy to get some engine mounts ( got all engine brackets).

100bhp in a small car like that should be pretty nippy!

haha if and when i get it running!

got new wiring loom and its wrong, guy being a dick and not taking it back aswell...

after reading about and loads of head scratching it looks like i need to use some of that wiring i thought i didn't need..

biggest problem i seem to have now is finding a plug for coil, when i done that should be relatively easy with wiring.

Done some work on wiring today by identifying plugs and now know where all plugs go under bonnet.

will have to take the dash to change dash loom, but shouldnt be too hard.

can't wait to get started with this! one more week of uni and..... can get going

I remember reading up about those swift GTi's a while back. You can get some crazy power figures from them and get them to rev to around 9000 rpm!

thanks

Spent a bit of money today on parts:

Bought a headgasket set
Spark plugs
alternator belt
ordered timing belt

also got:
Dizzy cap
dizzy rotor
should have head bolts coming in post
radiator
gearlinkage
exhaust(mani and downpipe)
accelerator cable

so that only leaves me having to buy one inner and one outer cv joints, fuel pump and engine mounts!

Little update on what has been happening lately:

Block stripped and taken to machine shop - 0.4mm wear on bores.

ordered 200 quid worth of parts from suzuki - set of new pistons, seals and gaskets.

crank is in good condition and just needs polishing.

ordered new main and big end bearings from UK supplier, rings from US supplier as suzuki wanted 135 for 4 sets of rings, i paid 47 for all rings.

should have pistons on monday, and hopefully block back same day.

all i need to buy now is two cv joints. thats it...
