.dean. - drive it thursday so not long left from 4 months waiting

Cheers Jonny

Yea Phil i think the previous owner did it, the sandard HU was proper jammed in so it was obvious he must have had the same problem as I did before, but we ended up breaking the standard headunit to get it out.

Its not stupidly loud, if you listen for it you notice it ever so slightly, and I only noticed it when there was no traffic and i had all the windows down.

If it still isn't meant to be doing it then what could the problem be?

hah! i remember asking everyone in the car to shut up to try and hear the OE dump valve. I've got a collins engineering dump valve and its really good.

I think if its chattering its something like air stalling your turbo but i may be wrong. Your car is standard ayway so i doubt it would be chattering unless the person has installed the turbo wrong, maybe a better if you post on AOC

Make sure someone hasn't blocked the original DV on the turbo with a view to fitting an aftermarket DV

Sorry I thought it was chatter I should know it isn't, thats what I meant you can hear the standard recirc. valve if its quite and windows down.

But yea Im loving it, arranged for a mate with a decent camera and the gear to go with to take a few pictures tonight, so will have some fancy pictures up later tonight

Just had a thought...if you put a vxr turbo on a gsi and all the other necessary upgrades like injectors etc and then got a remus fitted, would it sound much like the nurburg astra?

If so then that is a must

Im going to enjoy it standard for a while, but would plan on going down that route

Milltek or Blueflame exhaust system, pre-cat removed, VXR Injectors, Larger FMIC and a Remap.

I'd be more than happy I think with anything over 250bhp and a torque figure to match, as a few people have mentioned the Turbo's ain't that brilliant once they are tuned, was going to go down the VXR route but I'd be tempted to wait abit longer and save and go for a different manifold and go down the Garrett route

Mine sounds extremely close to what a burg sounds like

courtenay precat pipe
exhausts uk second de-cat
magnex cat back s/s straight through system
vxr turbo
injectors
actuator
afm
remap

pops on the over run and if I'm giving it stick a lot

Love the noise off it,

Sounds good shep defo need some vids

Oh and forgot to put these up, gave the car a decent clean and got a mate to take some pictures

Also ordered a Irmscher Badge for the front grill, purchased some Silvatec bulbs for the front indicators and when I get round to it order some UK Pressed Plates.

Then been thinking about anthracite wheels, really do like them silver but do also think anthracite in the rite shade would work very well, so just got to think on that one

UPDATE 9/10

Nothing major, just tidied the front end up abit with some silvatec indicator bulbs to get rid of the fried egg effect, and added an Irmscher badge as I prefer it with.

Also treated her to a full clean, wash, claybar, wash, polish and wax along with a detail of the exterior and interior.

Nice and clean, and smooth

Oh and what was left of the claybar

Thanks Guys

Plates should be here tomorrow so will get them fitted asap.

Still thinking about lights?
Anyone able to recommend me somewhere to get ahold of some HID's for dipped beam? Seen a few kits but are mostly universal but would like something that fits perfect.

Otherwise I might just get some Ultra Blue Bulbs

Update 15/10/09

Nothing major, just fitted some Xenon Headlight and side light bulbs as I couldn't be arsed to fit HID's

Also got my new pressed plates from Carnoisseur online, glad I ordered from them as the quality is top notch, also they are reflective, have the postcode on them and have the BSAU or whatever number it is also on there

Very pleased with them, next on the list is Service, and MOT and Tax early next year, so nothnig major will happen until then, few more exterior bits, would also like to get the centre console painted Gloss Black like the Corsa VXR's.
After MOT and service then hopefully tuning shall commence
