Kind of failed with the vinyl. Ordered the wrong type of stuff, Its a bit too thick but aparaantly you can get the same stuff but thinner, So am now on the lookout for some.
Luckily what i have left may do for the car!

Its quite thick, Its not vinyl its a sort of foil underneath, Trying to find some elsewhere. Going to ask someone i know who does signwriting to keep an eye out for some for me.

This was £10 for a 1mx660mm roll. So I think it was the cheap and nasty stuff. It does fine on the outward curves, Its just on the inward curves that it isn't that good.

the foil backed stuff just doesnt stretch well enough to do any kind of dished surface its a bigger.. i got some to do some of my interior parts on the car but was utter shit so spent silly money getting stuff vinal dipped in greas

Got a couple of flat bits I can do with it, so all is not wasted. Just going to keep it as it is, Until I find the right stuff.

Bit of a balls up today.
Just put it on the rear paddock stand turned around and it had fallen off and bent the paddock stand. Luckily i got hold of the bike before it hit the floor so all is well with the panels. Only thing that took the brunt of the fall was the swingarm which is now scratched to hell and the paddock stand which is all bent.
Fortunately enough i managed to straighten the stand out enough to use it and do the chain, also lubed it up. Just got to decide on a way of hiding the scratches left by the paddock stand and find a new one!

ee them are heavy when they go like that...
how bad are the scratches? get a pic up as you could most probably polish them out then re spray the swinging arm

Sadily they are all the way down to the metal. Might be sneaky and cover them with a sticker for the time being, Until i get some more money to do bits on it.

Dragged it out of its winter hiding place and decided to start on the wheels.
Not got alot of cash to spare with christmas, holiday coming up etc so I had an idea while browsing Ebay of all places.
Went into the cupboard in the shed to find a selection of sandpapers and a bit of auto sol.
Heres the result of a moment of bordem/madness!
Also found a use for the Carbon effect vynil that I had got. Put it on the rear of the numberplate just to cover the white and to stop it showing up any dirt.

Its what i was doing, lol. Going to go over it again at the weekend and make a start on the front. If i don't like it, At least all the main prep work is done for painting

The paddock stand bobbins turned up today, sadily i couldn't fit them as some monkey had stripped the threads out of the mounting points so i will have to re tap them.
Not bad for £3.50 off ebay!!!
Also ordered a cover for the rear shock, As it looks tatty and I don't want to be stripping it down to paint it.

Finsihed off polishing the wheels today. Got to go around them with some 2000 wet and dry and get a metal polishing kit to get them shining. Still in two minds about them, But if i don't like them half of the prep has been done if i want them powdercoated.

With the 2000 wet and dry has it give a good enough finish to notice it had been sanded?
On my FR the tailpipe has some black marks on it and want it looking spanking again

It did leave a few marks, but gave it a good going over with some Autosol and it got most of them out.
Just looking for a fine metal polishing kit to get the rest of them out.
And as for them corroding again, They will do if i don't keep on top of them. Just looking around for some way of giving it a bit of extra protection. Was reccomended to use car wax on them but trying to find a decent long lasting one at the minute.

The laquer would make it look yellow, and also over time it would only end up back to how it was. After the laquer lifting then bubbling. Tried it years ago on a push bike I had and it didn't go too well.

Think i've done wll i want to with the "Bling" side of things, Now to make it go and stop properly 
HEL brakelines and EBC HH Sintered pads have been ordered.
Going to give the brakes a good overhaul and make sure everything is 100%.
Got my eye on a few "Go faster" bits, and also going to give it a good service before the bits are fitted.

where did you get the kit from? is it just the 2 fronts or the rear too? seem a few sets that are just fronts
