Thanks for all the comments

corsasportsam - the skirts are still standard abs plastic, theyve not been painted, so they are effectively the same product/colour as the arch trims/bumper tops.

Thanks Phil

corsa.kid - ta

nibnob21 - thanks. Glad the tutorial was of some help I'll u2u you said details when ive finished this response.

gidged500 - Cheers, I used to get loads of inspiration off others, only nice to be able to give some back Since ive had the car i did use Auto Glym Bumper Care, but when i decided that was getting too greasy i swapped to Dodo Juice Supernatural Gloss Trim Sealant Kit Link. You can get a gloss and a satin version, i use the satin. Its expensive (for what it is and the amount you get), but works very well! Impressed me, im now converted to using this tbh. Takes a more time and effort, but lasts much longer and looks better - well worth the added effort/time.

Jed - Yeah, its real cf, to cut it i spent umpteen minutes of my life going back and forth with a stanley blade, slowly working my way through

Adster - thanks dude, yeah, the gf's a star at times!

Follow the instructions on how to use it and you'll be fine.

MOT timeeeeeee

Told them the airbag light was still on, but theyve said its not a mot failure till 01 March so its down as an advisory (if they cant reset it as theyre not a vaux specialist, theyre a fiat/pug specialist.

Also told them the handbrake is a bit shaggered, i know it needs a new cable, but hoping that it will pass!

Fingers crossed

If it passes then ill treat it to its new headlight bulbs!

**update**

Well it failed on its handbrake went 2 clicks too far apparently boooo, like that wasnt expected.
He said it passed on everything else with flying colours though

Well, i decided to upgrade the Rear ARB for a Whiteline one, being a brand whore i would never be happy till i got one

Fitted it today

New vs Old - it just looks a whole lot more meaningful which is a good thing.

Fitted - started raining so no more pics, just need to take it for a drive and see if it makes any difference over the Cav Rarb.

Ordered new clutch for it, so hopefully that'll be here in the next few days w00p w00p.

Exhaust mani is on hold for now hopefully funds allow soon, we shall see!

In amongst all this, my new headlights arrived - Phillips Xtreme Vision - unsure on their capabilities but decided to give it a go.

Before -

After -

Thanks

IIRC they come under Passat Winter Wheels at VW. Not 100% though as different people say different things.

The holes in these 'G60's' are more oval shaped, i cant find a picture but from what i remember original G's had circular holes.

New clutch arrived.

Ordered one with a super-dooper name

Black Diamond Stage 1 Fast Road Clutch

quote:

What's the point? a standard one would have done.

Because it's what i wanted.

Made fresh also

Also GM clutch cable -

[FYI clutch cable part number 90523224]

Much better, maybe because my old clutch was a bit fucked im not used to it, but the clutch feels much more planted to the engine (hard to explain really) other than that its very all or nothing on the clutch atm taking some getting used to.

w00p w00p Just need the damn manifold fitted now! Soon!

Is it sad that ive just sat here for the best part of 1.5 hours and read my entire thread

Actually quite a good read if i do say so myself!

Cant believe the hours and effort that have gone into this car, not that it hasnt been worth it, i wouldnt swap it for the world.
Its great having somewhere like this to document the story of a car.

Sorry for a pointless bump, but i should have an update post-Olympic attendance (so 3-4 weeks)

Looking forward to the update
