other way round with the block size. the XE1 is a smallblock.

the older x18xe's are big block dunno what stud and the x18xe1's are small block and the newer of the pair and are 5 stud

When I first fitted my X18XE1 I took it to TOTD with CorsaSport, It was Just under 116bhp but it was 135lb/ft of torque.. In near enough standard form it was on-par with XE'd corsa's.. You've got to remember BHP isnt everything! The lack of power is offset by the massive weight saving, the extra torque and its ability to rev a HELL of alot faster than an XE.

There are several Z18XE turbo Corsa C's running well over 200bhp on standard internals so that is my next step

Oh and lets not forget the head design on the X18XE1 makes the earlier small blocks and the 2.0 XE look like they were fashioned from flint by monkeys.

agree

just look at the inlet ports much bigger than c20xe's

cant wait to get mine in on bodies though

1.8 small blocks may become the new conversion.

so many people getting them now.

I'm sure the popularity is going to grow.. I shall continue to be an ambassador for the big CC small block even though people without a clue always stick their nose up at them

I'm DEFINITELY going to upgrade to Simtec90 + drive-by-wire management though.

but an xe has more torque and more power, and the weight saving just wont make up for that. i cant see how its on par with an xe corsa at all

bhp isnt everything, bhp/tonne and torque is, which the 1800 16v doesnt have at all

i thought the x18xe1 was pretty much identical to the z18xe but cable operated throttle as aposed to FBW?

i was always under the mpression it was a smallblock too?

The power delivery, torque curve etc. is TOTALLY different to the XE and is much better suited to the Corsa.. You really got to have a drive to under-stand.

i cut mine where it joins the carloom well [ast the pump relay. this ok?
