Pump and pipe on order should be here on wed, then fit pump modify z20let pipe and try again. Genuine gm bits on order roughly about 200 for pump and pipe.

when i emailed autopumps uk to tell them their pump was shit they told me
"We sell thousands of oil pumps per month and for one to crack is very unusual, in fact our failure is less than 0.1%."

i sent it back and got the trade price of £33 back

bit dyno time

seemed like it was going to do alright. thats a happy face believe it or not.

first run, gave up to investigate the fuelling. was just doing power run to see what it was like. then as it coasted down it cut out. wouldn't start. once it had cooled down, started up, no oil pressure, engine sounds fine though.

push it out, attach to a sierra, yep, people still own and drive non cosworth ones weirdly, deliver car back home and wait until new pump arrives on wed, take it back, fit it, then put it back on rollers. gonna be a fun week tbh.

for anyone that looks at the graph, the power was still rising at 6k, was just stopped then as it was the first run to see what the fuelling was like as it was just a power run for a check.

You need to check which one you have.

Have you heard of RealOEM.com?

Later models had "vortex" style oil separators which are one piece iirc and older models ( like mine) had filter like above.

So you need to find out which one you have.

The oil seporators on them help the turbos to die rather quickly on the late ones dont they? that the breather on the top of the rocker cover?

yeah oil separator is on top of the rocker cover. It's not an issue when they are replaced at correct intervals, but when people start to not bother turbo's do die quicker.

New oil pump, pick up, seal and gasket arrived today. Looks a barrel of laughs to modify a z20let pipe. All genuine gm stuff so people can calm down a bit.

Its an oil breather which costs circa £50 should be done periodically as a preventiative measure preventing oil starvation to the turbo.

There are two different types - "bog roll" and vortex. First one is ~20, vortex is ~50 and supposed to be for life as it work some how different.
