im looking at getting a corsa b 1.2 sxi or 16v and was just wondering what the best mods are for performance on the car. my bro said for his 1.6 sport that an inlet manifold is quite good? is this the same for a 1.2 16v or would an inlet manifold not make a lot of diff?

Wouldnt bother with performance mods on a 1.2 mate id just make it look good until you can afford either engine conversion or a new car with higher engine.

regardless what you do, it will be slow compaired to anything with a 1.6 engine or higher. you could probably make it as fast as a 1.4 but its a complete waste of money.

In that case bro just look for cosmetic mods - sure you could put an exhaust on it but the only benefit would be the sound!

I would recommend:
- Alloys (vaux ones)
- Lowered (get some coilovers)
- GSI bodykit
- Depo's and smoked rears
- Tints?
- Interior

Or what ever you would like to see on your car

Tbh mate the best way to go is always to look at other people's cars, see what you like, and do that.

It doesn't always matter if it's been "done to death", as long as you like it.

a tuned x16xe or and c20xe are 2 of the best modifications you can make.

other than that, wheels and coilovers are a must.

for performance you can either
cliff + push or 1.6/xe/let

looks = lowered, wheels 15/16's, skirts.

well i have a 1.2 16v and all ive done is: Drilled airbox with k&n panel filter, lowered 60mm, 15" cav slabs, rear mhw lights, depo headlights, de-badged, rub strips removed, front sparco strut brace,

im only going on looks until i can afford a sport but no point in trying to make the engine go faster

And what bigger engine things did you beat? Double decker buses?

Tbh mate, as everyone has said... There isn't much you can do to a 1.2 16v without spending big bucks. Save up, and buy a Sport.

Enlighten me as to how a 4" back box made it "different"?

basically this will be his first car - so no bigger engine just yet (plus he has 3 points and he's 16 )

So insurance would rape him for anything to excessive!

As said bro basically just do as I said
