Private sale = no comeback. His word against yours if it ever got to a small claims court. If you bought from a registered trader its a bit different. End of story, im afraid

It's your fault you didn't check the car properly

You bought it private so have no guarantee etc, sold as seen is what it is

You would have to prove the guy knew about all the other problems, and you have no way of doing that

You should have had it checked over before you bought it, your mistake, learn from it

and tbh 1500quid is alot of money to be handing over for an old nova without checking it over 1st imo.

you probably looked at it with 1600quid as that was the asking price, you managed get him knocked down to 1500. that hundred quid you saved could have paid for an aa inspection

And also, tbh, you have bought a nova, which is god knows how many years old, so you should have expected that it will be rusty, and still didn't check properly

Hope you can break it for parts and get your money back, but as said by everyone, you have no comeback whatsoever

you can see the car is gonna be rotten underneath because in the engine bay there is at least four badly welded plates on the inner wings, it is up to the buyer to check the car over, id just take the loss and get a few quotes on welding go for the middle one and your back on the road, it happens just gotta get on with it

Whenever you buy a vehicle take someone along with you, look underneath the vehicle, lift rubbers and check to see if it's been repainted, check everything, and you might say it's a good car, but it depends what the other person says about it, as it's better to be safe, than have what's happened to you mate.

I'd stop worrying about it and move on, you've lost your money as you should of checked it over. Take it on the chin and just think, you'll never do it again
