Not really, most new phones developed by the main manufacturers dont have wifi, but APple arent really a phone maker... hence why thye dotn care lol, most networks wont want handsets that bypass revenue streams... tis a mistake IMO though

Aye cos he went out and bought one

I wouldn't buy a phone without wifi now.

Handy to have even if it's not that often it's really required.

Is he a paying customer though, or just so everyone can say I have the same phone as Lewis Hamilton as he was given one for free.

Launch of the BlackBerry Storm

Vodafone will put pressure on Apple's iPhone today with news that it has clinched an exclusive deal to offer the first touchscreen phone made by the mobile email specialist BlackBerry in time for Christmas. The BlackBerry Storm, which has a revolutionary "clickable" touchscreen that prevents a user accidentally sending an email or making a call just by touching the screen, will be free for anyone willing to sign up with Vodafone to a £35-a-month contract. A pre-pay version is also being planned. The device is aimed squarely at consumers rather than the corporate market, which is already dominated by BlackBerry devices. It faces serious competition at Christmas from the Apple phone and two other recently announced touchscreen devices: the G1, which uses Google's Android software and is exclusive to T-Mobile, and the 5800 XpressMusic from Nokia, which Orange confirmed last night it would be stocking, although it is unclear if it will be out by Christmas. http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2008/oct/08/vodafonegroup.telecoms

The new touchscreen BlackBerry phone is launched today, ready to battle with the likes of Apple’s iPhone and the new “Google phone” in the run up to Christmas. The BlackBerry Storm aims to blow away its rivals with an “intuitive touchscreen” which can be pressed down like buttons on a keyboard, unlike other touchscreen mobiles where users tap the unresponsive glass. The Times was granted a brief look at the new phone yesterday. With its neat metallic edges and rubber sides, the Storm looks sleek and stylish, but is also easy to hold and use. However, at first glace it is thicker and heavier than rival devices. The new BlackBerry joins a crowded market for touchscreen phones, which is dominated by Apple’s iPhone. Nokia and Google have released new smartphones in recent weeks, but industry experts consider the iPhone to be the “sexiest” touchscreen and has set the bar high for similar devices. http://technology.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/tech_and_web/article4902040.ece

Research in Motion Ltd. is rolling out its first real answer to Apple Inc.'s iPhone, the touch-screen BlackBerry Storm, which will work on broadband networks on both sides of the Atlantic and be exclusive to Verizon Wireless in the U.S. and to Vodafone Group PLC throughout Europe. BlackBerry will have to distinguish itself amid the wave of other sleek do-everything smart phones coming to market, like Google Inc.'s G1, made by HTC Corp.. The Storm, BlackBerry's first touch-screen device, aims to make it harder to inadvertently select items while moving images across the screen. The success of Apple's iPhone has spawned a series of touch-screen smart-phones from manufacturers around the world over the past year. Consumers will have a multitude of options this holiday season -- among them, Samsung Electronics Co.'s Instinct, LG Electronics' Dare, and the soon-to-be-launched G1 from T-Mobile USA Inc., a unit of Deutsche Telekom AG, and Google. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122341835869112971.html?mod=todays_europe_marketplace

They must be sumamt to do with us as Vodafone/Verizon partly funded the Storm to be purpose built so it wont ever be available on other networks ie Ornage etc. so it must have summat to do with Verizon
