NICE

im struggling to get my iphone to upgrade to 1.1.4, pop it into recovery mode, shift+click restore in itunes, select 1.1.4 firmware and the iphone has the black screen of death.
Luckily iBrickr easily takes it out of recovery mode but im going in circles
im sure it'll work after a while but this is a complete ballache so far

it'll restore to 1.1.1 no worries (haven't tried 1.1.2, downloading now so will find out), iTunes pops up with an error 1015 (i think) but rebooting the iphone and it works ok. But iTunes doesn't want to know about 1.1.3 or 1.1.4. Have tried a handful of times, tried different USB ports too....been told to try a different system but don't have another XP system here

Will keep trying but i have a feeling it won't do it on my system, will have to wait til i get into work or something......

Saying that though, the phone does look good, like the little slide to lock/unlock/switch off etc - it's about all i can do on the phone currently

it's the installing of 1.1.4 that's doing me in, iTunes doesn't want to know...just comes up with the dreaded 1604 error.

cosmo - it's probably best you pop down to the local o2 or car phone warehouse to pick one up, stock is suppose to be pretty low though. Although they seemed to have a load down in Bedford

£329 i think, almost double the price of the 8gb version.....

greate site i've found is, www.modmyifone.com - they seem to have everything on it.
Plus from reading, apparently Ziphone isn't the best option for jailbreaking/unlocking as it farts around with the original bootloaders. iLiberty+ is a lot better and ipwnage/iLibertyX under OSX is meant to be even better

yup, it's the original o2 sim that came i with the phone. I've just restored to 1.1.2 under iTunes 7.6, which apparently isn't possible as you have to have 7.4x for anything below 1.1.3....but it worked fine. Currently it's trying to restore to 1.1.3, but the iphone throws a wobbler with the screen going blank and itunes just pops up an error.....

i'll keep googling and see what i get

It depends, if you want it for the apps but don't need a phone, then buy a Touch. That's what I did. Then decided I fancied a new phone so got the iPhone.

If you don't need a new phone, I have a jailbroken Touch here you can buy....
