on a new track car

Today has been eventfull compared to the hassles of haggling and not getting anywhere with a few people last week/earlier this week.

Fee found a R32 GTR with an RB30 and T51r turbo on PH. Had a look and phoned him 1st thing, then phoned the old owner, then the owner... haggled a bit and agreed on a price....

THEN

the owner of the 1st car we offered on got back to me saign he'd accept my offer..

Doh.... which one!

RB30 with potential 800+bhp or RB27 with potential 700'ish.

The 3.0 is running 450hp at all 4 wheels at 1.0bar boost, 650hp at the wheels at 1.5bar
The 2.7 is running twin TD06 SH 20Gs, and 600'odd bhp

after a good hard brain melting 30mins I made the decision to go with the worse looking, lower powered car for the same price

my reason is just down to how soon we can use it really. Cost of preping for TA...

The RB30 would have had a lot of unknowns for me... AEM ecu, and its bad press.... we'd need to cage it etc. It wasnt mapped properly above 1.0bar.

The 2.7 was a more complete package.... i think

I want an RB30.... but in my own term if you understand me

The car above I felt i'd have to take it back to go forwards. A T51r is a HUGE turbo, and i feel we'd need to down size to a T04z. Still.... it had HEAPS of torque (well over 500lbft), but all pretty much above 5000rpm

The twin turbo will be more gradual/linear/progressive, more suited to our needs.

• 1990 lightweight model
• Totally standard when purchased in 2002
• Spent £33,000+! (Car + £24,000+)

I have owned this car for 5 years now and the time has come with great regret to let it go due to lack of time to justify it due to family and business commitments.

This Godzilla looks and goes great. There are plenty of cheap ones out there and recently imported ones that are meant to have uprated engine internals. Mine has had everything done over here with proof. The recent comprehensive engine build and setting up has been done by RK tuning. I have loads of pictures of the engine and its internals.
The engine has really good power/torque for the amount of boost it is running and is a really quick car with potential to be quicker still!
It saw 0-60 in 3.95secs before the latest engine and has done a 11.89 1/4 mile since run in just to prove the peformance.
454bhp on one of the latest Dastek rolling roads. The print out is in the pics. The engine has the internals to produce some big power figures with different injectors etc.
It is also commented on being a very tidy example.

Engine Spec
Block faced and line bored to 88mm. 2700cc+
88mm Wyseco forged pistons (pocketed), Pauter forged con rods with ARP bolts
New crank and ACL race bearings
New head. Ported, gas flowed, matched to plenum/manifold
Ported exhaust manifolds
Valve seats modified and tested to give perfect port pressure
HKS 88mm drag head gasket set (includes inlet and exhaust in steel + oil gallery restrictor)
HKS cams and pulleys
ARP head studs
Nismo oil pump (£650)
Tomie baffled sump kit
Fully balanced inc front pulley/flywheel
Oil cooler
New Turbo Technics stage 2 turbos
Fast Flow air filters
Circle earth kit
Apexi Power FC
Trust downpipe
3" Stainless steel exhaust system with decat of course

Other
Rebuilt gearbox
ORC twinplate clutch
Nismo engine mounts
Volk/Rayes 9x17 forged wheels with nearly new Goodyear F1 tyres
Lowered adjustable suspension
Kangaroo Paw front discs and Mintex pads. Master Cylinder stopper
Aircon removed
Greddy boost controller
Plenum temp gauge
Blitz boost gauge in pod
Additional oil pressure gauge
Trust style rear spats

Recent rebuild and mapped by RK Tuning.
Running 1.2 bar and around 450 BHP
Recent respray, new Iridium plugs and Lambda sensors. Running 10/60 competition 3 Ester oil.
'G2 GTR' Number plate negotiable

the good points

Uprated gearbox, stronger and slightly shorter gearing in 2 and 3 i think.

Nismo Diff (rear)

Ohlins PCV suspension - will need to asses this on track and see what we think. Good rep though.

Big baffled sump.... oil capacity up from standard 4.5 / 5l to 7l, and baffle gated too. Help with surge issues.

Cage - same as our old one, but with less cross bars. Not the best, but better than nothing.

Moderate sized twins

no interior to be stripped hehe
