and a lot of people want to drift on trackdays.... I personally hate it, and a lot of tracks/organisers will black flag if you are doing it badly.

A poorlt driven FWD will be quicker and safer than a poorly driven RWD

If you have tried and are comfortable with RWD.... go for it .... just dont get trackdays and drift days mixed up

They're also driven by professionals. We're talking about starting out.

Thats why i prefer to put my money on a decent kart. My opinion, drive a 13bhp kart is much more fun than a 150-200bhp fwd car.

thing is, I know what AK's saying. I was the same... I remember thinking years ago, before i did any track days... 'I want something RWD, and I want something turbo'd LOL'...

but the reality is, on your 'average' track day, the people who can push their car to the limit and go quick are usually the FWD people... you'll find most people with the RWD cars, take it fairly easy through the bends, making sure they don't get the back end out... (infact most track days these days don't want you to get the back end out, they say if you want to do that, do it on a drift day)...

Where as a well sorted FWD car, you can drive it on the limit through a bend quickly with no real risks, worst that'll happen is it'll understeer out a bit by pushing too hard or oversteer if you lift / brake mid bend.

Matt L are you coming to the combe action day? I'll take you out in my 106 on track if you want? - though you can get much more track orientated FWD car's than mine, like a really well sorted 205 or even integra DC2 or something

when and where is it?? may take you up on that offer

just come up with an idea dont know how stupid it is. but would it be worth me tracking my old corsa (now my bros).

already has susp, brakes done just needs a cage and stripping.
downsides are its only 1.2 8v, and the engine is slowly dying
but would it be worth it? with the lack of power it would be just to get used to being on a track/handling etc etc

First car i ever tracked was my 1.0 S1 106, got use to it in that learnt to drive properly the progressed to my 1.5D van, which i was lapping faster than a LOT faster cars, with not so confident drivers.

Trackdays arentabout going fastest imo, it's about properly learning to drive, and having fun!

I say track the 1.2
