Guys, I know I've said many times that people trading online should be careful but I'm still concerned that there are many people falling for things which they really shouldn't. Take the following thread -

An XE being stripped in Coventry.

The cunning among you will notice that this car has a yellow front number plate, which would mean that it isn't a UK car. Of course Opel badges substantiate this. The other cars still have regs, and if you look carefully they don't appear to be UK format, instead having xx-xx-xx format which is Dutch.

So check the image filenames - yup, more Dutch.

Engine bay - yes, that is a LHD bay with the battery up there by the wipers and brake reservoir next to the expansion tank. Opel plug cover should have aroused your suspicion and investigation should have confirmed it.

Third pic, car which we now know is LHD obviously has the wheel close to the adjacent window.

Save the pics - you can see with EXIF information that three different cameras have been used to take these pictures and indeed the seller has reported to some buyers that the pictures were old when in fact the EXIF data contradicts this. Obviously you won't always examine EXIF data but even the image sizes are different and clearly lit differently. Alarm bells should have been ringing. They're also lit differently. Minor details but ask yourself why.

I'm in the process of unpicking it all then as this guy is known the Police, that is where I'll be going. If you have information to provide please do this privately to me via u2u with exact details of what you were buying, how much you paid and where you paid it to.

In the mean time if you are thinking about trading on this web site please THINK before handing over money and if in doubt DO NOT TRADE.

Someone on 206info.co.uk recently put a post up in the For Sale section saying he was breaking a 206 GTi.... this person was also from Coventry. Obviously could be totally unrelated, but does make you wonder.

Anyway, turns out he was using pics of another members car. Said member posted in the thread asking WTF he was doing.

Another one, why is there allways fuck tards like this out to get people's hard earned cash, makes me angry...and i havnt even bought anything off him, its a disgrace.I looked at this thread not so long ago and i didnt click about the different plates, fair play ian and fucking hell you must get pissed off dealing with all these idiots, all the hassle you now have to go through to try and make this right.
