What would it be?

The money needs to include the cost of the car, but it can be anything, and have any engine, as long as it's included in the money.

I've always liked them caterham's. So a kit car version of that with a VTEC engine in it.

Edit, Supercharged

Steve, for 10k, you reckon you can buy a Seven replica kit car, as a kit, then a VTEC engine (presumably from an S2000, as it's the right way round) AND a supercharger?

Robin Hood or a locost?

I don't know how much those VTEC engines are. What about a small block version?

all DIY a kit locost would be possible with VTEC for under 10k..... shop around and spend wisely maybe a SC is possibl too... mapping/ECU would be the major ££££ there though

I'd prob go for an Evo 5 or Classic 4dr STi Impreza....

strip it bare, cage it and spend the remainder on brakes/suspension and decent rubber

As it's kind of already my plan, XE Corsa, but that's partly cos I've already put a quite a bit of money into it why I've been waiting to afford something quicker, now I think I might aswell use what I've already made and build on it.

If I didn't have my Corsa tho, I think it'd have to be either a K20a Mini or something with the power already there, probably Evo 5. So basically either the same as Whittie or AK.

Generation 1 RX7:

Engine from a high output RX8 - 230 odd brake
plus exhaust mods, removal of emmisions controls and run on aftermarket management may see 250bhp

Usual stripage, brakes, suspension, cage plus a few other bits and bobs

sub 1000kg RWD 50/50 weight distribution 250 bhp...

Good laugh?

we shall find out as thats my plan

Would it not just be easier to go for a 13b from a later RX7 Matt? Then you've got none of the emmisions crap to worry about.

yeh, but to get the power out of them they need a good porting which i think involves a full strip down of the engine, then theres the possible need to rebuild. all alot of cash... however i havent looked a great deal into it yet so havent looked at the full cost of each conversion. The Rx8 engine would be a bonus as it hopefully would been to higher mileage and is pretty much there powerwise
