VXR V 197 CUP(R27) V COOPER S

I owned a cooper s for 3 years, my mate has a vxr which I have driven back from scotland recently and I own a 197 f1.

My advice..... The clio cup or R27 is the best car imo.

I wouldnt even consider getting another mini -- the brakes, tyres, exhaust and seats are just not good enough for me to even consider buying another- The build quality is a myth as well- they are no better than the clio or corsa.

The corsa is a nice car and definately feels quicker in a straight line than the clio but I wouldnt buy one -- Im not keen on the driving position and it felt really dodgy round the twisty stuff after driving the clio.

The clio imo has the best handling, the best brakes, the best seats and imo the best looks. Dont buy a standard 197 - buy the R27 or the cup. The R27 can still be had for under 15k with no extras needed.

The ride quality on the clio is better than the corsa. People talk alot about the clios gearboix being crap on the motorway-- I have done a fair few motorway miles since I have had the car and to be honest it really isnt a problem- It makes a bit more noise than the mini used to but it is nothing major.

hi i feel obviously that you never tried the VXR to its potential its not "dodgy" as you say around the "twisty stuff" its as you say six or 2 threes as the way you look at it

people seem to forget 225ps can be achieved with the corsa with a remapd ecu

Sorry- Dodgy probably wasnt the right word...... Its a good car and as I said to you by u2u - it would of been my choice after the r27.

I have got to say though that the clio just feels much more assured round bends, and the brakes are a hell of a lot better on the clio.

There both good cars though and I do except the power and tuning ability of the corsa is a big bonus

It really depends what you are looking for - I was dissapointed with my mini that so many parts needed to be upgraded fopr me to enjoy to its full potential.

When I was deciding on my car this time I wanted something between 15-17k which I didnt need to change anything major on. The clio just ticked all the boxes for me- The main things I was looking for was handling, brakes, wheels, seats and exhaust as these were all the things that dissapointed me on the mini-- The clio was the only car I could find that I couldnt find much wrong with- There is nothing on the car that I realy need to change or spend more money on.

And you can get one for 14k

Dr pepper has convinced me the clio out of those 3

I saw a nice shiny red corsa VXR last week and started remembering clarksons comments on it driving through halfords and picking up every stick on part. Then did i spot the cap sporting ned who was more busying looking around to see who was noticing his bling bling ned wagon instead of concentrating on the road.
