Why did the old wing have a weird looking hole cut out of it?

Because the previous owner came off worse in a fight for a space with a bus and the wing paid the price and was being replaced anyway. I cut the metal out of it to weld onto the bootlid before smoothing over the boot handle.

Not had chance to do much this week due to the heavy rain but whilst I got a break in the rain today I fitted new rear brakes shoes and a new handbrake cable as the old one was fraying a little.
Whilst everything was stripped down I waxoyled the arches and painted the rear drums.
Just needs the shocks and springs fitting now.

I believe they are CDX wheels mate. I wouldn't know if they are or not but was informed they are.
Why on earth would you want a set?

The paint was all dry this morning so I fitted the suspension before it started to rain

Already I can see the difference.

Also fitted the new alternator as the old looked like it couldn't charge a torch let alone a car.

Now for a tip for anybody reading this. Don't jack up your car without using a rubber mat on your trolley jack or a piece of wood like I do.

This has been caused by garage using trolley jacks without covers on, cracking the underseal and letting water get to bare metal. I had to grind all the underseal off to see the extent of the rust.

All the rust ground off and coated in zinc primer, I've put some seam sealer over it now but have no pics of that. Once that's dry i'll Waxoyl over the top.

I was thinking of rear mudflaps, When you mentioned it I went looking for a cheap set and found these new.

Bought this connecting pipe which mates up the XE manifold to the Corsa centre. Should save loads of messing around.

Also started cutting up the original bumper for a little idea i've had.

I've acquired another front bumper from a different car, My idea is to mate it to the Corsa bumper and blend the 2 together, It's an alternative to paying £200 for a reiger skin.

Nope, If I got hold of a CDX facelift Vectra bumper i'd paint it and fit it to my dads car.
The bumper isn't a Vauxhall item

Nope
Are you thinking along the lines of that Rieger RS4 style Corsa bumper?
Not my stlye tbh.
I'm not 100% my idea will work or look good but I do like the donor bumper when fitted to the car it should be on.
