Cheers for the offer Jay but I bought a new one in the end bud

Right so the new ICV turned up today. Just got it fitted and guess what........still doing it exactly the same as before!

Getting properly fucked off with it now. The only other thing I can think of now is an airleak. its got to be something inlet related I reckon as thats the only thing I've touched since it started doing it. I'm tempted to strip the powerbox down completely and re do the whole thing completely with new gaskets etc.

Im already a massive stress head with uni atm so it would have been nice if it worked for me but noooo bloody cars lol

It could just be easier stripping it down mate and trying it. A lot of hassle but it does seem it could be the problem

Tom I dont think its timing related mate. Its not like the problems idle problems I was having before with the cams. Im pretty convinced its an airleak now. I started it up again after it cooled down and I could hear a hissing sound.

The plan now is to take the powerbox back off again tomorrow and completely strip it down. I'll be getting re powdercoated as the its started to flake around a couple of the bolt holes and its bugging the hell out of me

I've just bought a new throttle body from corsa-torque I just need to order a new upper inlet gasket from Autovaux and some gasket paper so I can make a new gasket for the new throttle body

Once its running properly I need to get it booked in for an MOT as well because it runs out the day after PVS. But other than that I think its going to be staying off the road now until PVS so I can get it how I want it Got used to walking now anyway lol

Swapsies Gav? Miss my little 12v now!

Buy some carb cleaner, turn your engine on and spray the cleaner around the inlet area, if you hear a change in the idle speed then you have an airleak, if you dont hear anything or notcie and drop in rpm there is no leak

It turned out to be another knackered brand new ICV Exactly the same thing happened as the other one -

Note to self - stop buying tat off ebay!

I've now bought a GM one Fourth time lucky lol. I've completely stripped the VX inlet down and will be rebuilding it back up with new everything from scratch because im not happy with it at the minute. I'll do a proper update once ive got all my new bits together
