that photo was when i first got it.it used to have some dodgy spot lights, flamer kit and neons but thet came off it right away and changed the wheels and converted it to 2lt 8v then to 16v. it looked good with the smooth boot,delocked and smooth wings.i wasnt keen on the bumper.
still lookin good tho

cool.

the loom wirings a bit dodgy to be blunt but is a sound car!
Hardly anyt rust - tis a winner!

Going to dave on tuesday to have the verniers put on and all the probs with the fresh engine sorted along with my exhaust if he can do me the favour, as everything ive tried hasnt stopped it blowing

took car back to Dave A today. Should be sorted in a week/2 weeks.

Hopefully i'll have a car back that i can use!

Also remembered i had this lying around today - i actually forgot i had it!


will fit it when i get the car back

vsport just rang.

car's just about sorted.
was the ecu and some earths buggering it up.

Fitting verniers tomorrow i think along with sorting exhaust and fitting anti-rollbar.

Problem found


New Ecu fitted and some wiring sorted out (20 year old wiring looms arent the most reliable) and it runs and drives nicely.

exhaust also now sorted. had to chisel off the stuff you had put round the joints. Was it cement

new ecu also has a higher rev limit to make the most of the cams

was some specialist expoxy stuff mate - is the bee's knees when it actually holds the blowing part!

Have you managed to stop it blowing at the manifold at all? As that was the main problem due to me stupidly welding the lambda too far forward haha.

exhaust all sorted, no leaks. also sorted your front radiator hose as it was leaking a bit. Needs a new hose ideally as the one fitted is a bit short.

update.

picked the car up staurday, drove lovely, after 2 hours, it was sat in assdaa carpark after id nipped to the toilet with the starter motor permanently live, missing bolts from various places and a horrific banging sound.


Looks like the projects been royally fooked. May be selling it :'(

or will organise taking it to beardy when i have money sorted out

car came back to me as it was idling rough, after 10 hours of checking and changing everything it could have possibly been it turned out to be a dodgy ecu. new ecu fitted (all free of charge) and it ran perfectly well.

dan collects car, drives it back home and it develops a noise. I give as much help and advice as possible, offer to ins[ect it for free and thats the last we hear from dan.

yes, in a controlled environment on a dyno where you can control the load given at any paticular rpm with a/f ratios and temps being monitored etc....

As i read it V sport didn't do the conversion? They merely rebuilt the engine!

Were they asked to check everything else over?

Either way a faulty loom and or ECU is nothing to do with rebuilding an engine and isnt something that can be checked!


Any the starter pernamently live could well cause a banging noise and could be the ignition switch for all we know again nothing to do with V sport.

Obviously we need to know where the bolts are missing from but i think theres a lot of people here jumping to conclusions!

i had the same problem on my nova. the main feed to the starter was earthing on something causing it to engage. made a racket and couldnt figure out what it was until i inspected the starting/charging harness.

found that it had rubbed through
