Be worth it in the long run Willay, those products look amazing!

Going to be some machine when your done, glad to see your giving it a rest for a while and not just fitting cheaper stuff to get it finished like alot of folk would!

Hello strangers

Well the car has been in the garage for most of the year now, shes been stripped underneath ready for when I get that spare Saturday or Sunday to paint it up with underseal, though a car/shell of this age doesn't really need it I want it to be clean and black, mainly because of the following (Jr will be proud...):


Subframe powdercoated gun metal



Inlet manifold



enlarged tophat, engine mount, gearbox mount, EVERY bracket for the rear anti roll bar, and some silly bits of metal I needed for the dry sump pump I think.


Dry sump cover


the sexy rocker cover


Rear beam & springs



Front anti roll bar (std) and rear anti roll bar (whiteline)



And thats me lot, I'm in the process of getting the rear drums and back plates done for the full jr experience and hopefully at some point in time I'll get a cambelt cover over there, though I'm going to have to get it modified to accommodate the shonky Mtech mount for the C20LET.

My equal length suck me fuck me (fingers crossed) exhaust manifold should be landing in the country in the first week of June from DP-Engineering which should help the engine build some what. I still need to source some kent cam/sbd/piper vieniners and that should be the engine build done hopefully

my gawwwddd... You lot and your OCD powdercoating and cleaning!



nutters... i just wouldnt have the patience to go to all that time (let alone expense) to make it look good underneith. Wont all the powder coating just get all chipped and the start blistering on the underneith as soon as you start using it in anger?

Not really, its strong stuff, obviously it will get chipped a bit, but its better than paint for those types of areas IMO

havent read the whole thread, but whats the logic behind the dry sump?

Is the car being built as a track car? I looked into getting my c20 sump pan welded with baffle plates. The dry sump system must have cost you a fortune

it was cheap was the logic iirc, and with the expected power/track action it should see a worthy/usefull mod

it was cheap and i thought why not back when I had the c20xe, but never fitted it. The car will be built for everything really but since the build I've had a taste of a few track days and now can't wait to get this out. Other then that there are the obvious oil advantages of using the dry sump system but sadly it comes at a cost when you start pricing up the over priced tank from pace, aeroquip fittings and braided lines. OH JOY.

Yeah it is abit silly because its going to get spanked but if you're going to do something you might aswell do it properly, say the powdercoating and me splashing underseal about will come to no more then 500 boys its well worth it just for the AWE factor in my books.
