Didn't he say Lita settled for being in the U21's instead of trying for a senior place?

At the moment I'd pick Carragher over Terry, the hardcore match day'ers will know why I think this.

I know most won't agree with me but I see John Terry as a liability, there seems to be this forcefield around him that warrants constant praise, now I know he's a fighter and very passionate but that can be bad at times, and make you go for tackles you shouldn't, when it's maybe better to let the attacker think and make the mistake.

There's a brazilian defender who plays for Santos and he was picked up on one of the speakers pitchside saying " he's only good on his rightside, make him shoot with the left if he's going to shoot " so this defender constantly showed him the left side and this fwd either won't shoot or kept skying it. Carragher does the same, you can tell with his movements, and I like it when a player uses his brain because not many players take their brains on the pitch.

I'd sooner drop Rio then Terry.

Either way for England its win/win. Terry, Carra, Rio, Woodgate, King, Dawson.... all capable.

How many players have brains to take on the pitch in the first place?

I agree with what you are saying though.

There a technically gifted players and there is players who just uses their physical attributes liked pace, skill, and strength.
Good technical players examples being......

Jamie Carragher
Ronaldinho
Mascherano
Berbatov
Crespo
Riquelme
Beckham
Henry
Kaka

Good players with the said attributes....

Rooney
Tevez
Pennant
Eto'o
C.Ronaldo
Adriano
Messi
Giuly

These are just examples of course.

Very good comment I just seen on BBC

"I don't blame Jamie Carragher one bit, and I think a trend is starting. Players who play regaularly in the CL are playing over 50 games per season for their clubs. If he's not a regular in the England team, or even the next choice, why does he want to leave his home and family for 3-4 days training for nothing? Team England is like an elite social club, the memebership is closed - very little "new blood" gets a chance, which would be understandable if it were a succesful team..... "

Yeah you could stick in there too, but if I was to put in every player, I'd have a list of 100,000 technically good players and a list of 2,000,000 phycially gifted players. So it was a shortened version.

Come down to Melwood or Anfield on a Champions League night and we'll see if you bottle it Fair play to him how anyone can call Jamie Carragher a bottler is beyond me, I certainly wouldn't want to go into a 50/50 challenge with him

yes, i agree

he is a brilliant player but he makes mistakes and they always go unmentioned, if rio makes one slight mistake he gets it in the neck

carragher imo should be third choice, and fill in whenever rio or terry are missing, if they play others infront of him, its understandable why he gets annoyed

carra should defo be making it in to the starting line up for england, he is leaps and bounds infront of john terry. he is for me the best defender in the premiership and has been for the last three or four seasons. Sven and mclaren have both over looked him.
