What power did it leave the factory with?

Good to hear the misfires sorted.

112bhp, so I'm quite pleased with the result. I was expecting about 100 now.

What about the lb-ft. What should it have when it was new?

Dunno, can't find it anywhere

I've seen 109, 120 and 127 mentioned, so no idea at all TBH.

to tie things up
1.6 mk1 gti is 110bhp and 103ib ft torque at 5010 rpm
funny enough the 1.8 gti is only 112bhp and 109ib ft torque but it comes in at 3500rpm

I know Paul, it's in the usual place too, I'll touch it up and save up to have the bonnet painted at some point, maybe have the bay done at the same time.

It's only tiny, just on fresh paint it's annoyed me

Nearly forgot in my annoyance, my grille badge came today, looks much better (even though my mum said "what's different about it?") aaaaaaaaaand, I fitted the little vinyl ring round the filler cap recess, which looks ace.

Got some new window winders coming too, but they're standard, so a bit boring.

Pics tomorrow.

So, pics of the vinyl on the filler recess -

The new grille badge -

and the chip of doom :'( -

You might be able to see it in that last pic, it's just to the right of the VW badge, on the front edge of the bonnet.

My 'new' rear lights came too... might as well throw them in the bin

I'm having a new (standard) exhaust fitted tomorrow, as the blow is pissing me off so much I CBA to wait 'til I've got a stainless one sorted.

Got some smoked front indicators coming too, but I dunno if I'll use them. Just an experiment really, see what they look like

It's just a black vinyl ring Chris, covers the 3 screws which are there and neatens it up a bit.

Standard GTI spec, but it wasn't re-fitted after the paint was done, so I did it myself.

Stonechip is gay indeed

Still need the side stripes, rear vinyl and some 9 spoke wheels really, then it'll look like this -

Without the little line on the boot.

I want the sticker it has in the rear window too
