he's not even named carricks replacement himself yet, i asked last page

berbatov and carrick are 2 different style of players, one holding midfielder and one forward, cant really pick one over the other

As for his replacement Zokora and Jenas are the 1st choice centres

its not hard to understand we didnt have the money to afford both and the carrick offer was to big to turn down, we then got berbatov for a good price and in his first seasons scores 22 goals.

Im not saying berbatov wasnt a good signing, he has been, i just find it hard to believe an established premiership club who just missed out on 4th place wouldnt have 10m in a transfer kitty to buy berbatov without selling your best midfielder

he wasnt the only transfer though, Zokora and Ekotto were purchsed just before berbatov agreed a deal.

Im not saying he wouldnt be welcomed back because he would but he wanted big wages etc


anyway hes gone and i hope dimi stays so we can work on strengthening our squad

The tottenham board have the same mentality as everton... it's a business and they are the only people involved with the club who are not deluded that they are a 'big club'

Hence not trying to punch above there weight and risk keeping two players at the peak of their careers when they could offload them/him for big money

we also got further in the cups, played well in europe and we will still finish 5th same as last year. We have 2 games left and only 1 point behind everton who have 1 game left

we played alot more games and had more cup commitments this year, i hope we can keep our current players and strengthen it over the summer with the aim of pushing harder in the the league
