That guys not got 195 from a filter on a vrs.
180 max, more like 165/170.

As said above, the boxes are fine.
The clutch on the fabia is what can't handle the torque.

The guys with more mods and pushing over 200bhp still have the standard boxes.

I very much doubt you'd see an extra 65bhp from those mods.

totally agree

wait a minute.... are you having me on

No becuase your exactly right. Remap on my car would see an extra 50 BHP if I'm lucky and depending on who I go with nearly an extra 100lb/ft of torque

Normally higher the torque figure the lower the BHP from the 1.8T

The engine as standard is good for 300lb/ft then conrods need uprating

So thats a jump from 207lb/ft to 300lb/ft

Depending on the size of a turbo and how much boost it will hold depends on the gain in performance from a remap.

I was joking Whitter, you normally disagree / argue / take the piss out of everything i post!

Chiptuning (volvo specialists)

My quote was £470 from them.
bhp 200 to 235
torque 300 to 342

will be getting done in summer...The volvo boys swear by them...

Decent remaps on the pd130's don't touch the boost.

Angel Tuning seem to be popular with Fiat owners. The gain sounds about right - can get approx 120bhp out of my 1250cc Punto with a re-map. Went for a CDTI tuning box for now though as the re-map is about £400...

of course they alter the boost

decent remaps will give a smooth boost increase, a not so good will give spikes, but all remaps will alter the boost on a turbo charged car

if they did not touch the boost you would see similar gains to n/a i.e around 10 - 15 bhp

Wouldn't alterning the boost piss off the ECU a lot though? Or can you alter the fault finding stuff too?

It's all done by the OBD 2 port, it changes the requested boost etc. doesn't touch things like actuators or anything!

You will only see that sort of increase on an NA if you have other mods.

The ONLY reason the increase from a forced induction car is so much is due to changes in boost levels!
